Course Description
History is an important and popular subject, as evidenced by the wealth of history programmes seen on television. Future employers and universities value a qualification in A level History as it lays a foundation for developing excellent writing skills, the construction of historical arguments and the ability to assess the significance of historical events, movements and individuals. The course also teaches students the ability to evaluate sources in order to understand historical debates and skills in the evaluation and analysis of historical fact and historical interpretations. The study of History can lead to a variety of university courses and careers such as business, management, teaching, law, civil service, local government, archaeology and teaching.
