This 1 year course is appropriate to students who have a keen interest in Horse Care. There are 5 mandatory units which you will study over a three days in the classroom. The underpinning knowledge and understanding you gain from here will be transferred to our practical yard where hands-on experience can be gained. What next after the course:
On completeion of your NVQ 1, you may progress onto the NVQ 2 in Horse care or alternatively seek employment such as travel or endurance groom, stud hand, or retail outlet assistant.

Course content:
You will study assisting with the care of horses, cleaning the stable and yard, putting on and taking off and cleaning tack and horse clothing, assist with the handling of horses and maintaining health, safety and good working relationships.
