PROGRAMME CONTENT/STRUCTURE
This course is designed for students with moderate learning difficulties and can help bridge the gap between education and employment. Students will be allocated a personal tutor who will advise and offer guidance. Emphasis will be placed on developing skills appropriate to the learning goals of each student. Competence in literacy and numeracy to meet the demands of everyday situations will also be an important feature. Students will also work on developing their independence skills and self-confidence. Work experience will be arranged according to each students individual requirements.All students will take part in daily living skills sessions along side cooking and budgeting.
PROGRESSION/CAREERS OPPORTUNITIES
On successful completion of this course students may be able to progress onto the Routes for Work or Work Preparation Programmes.
ASSESSMENT STRUCTURE Portfolio + written assessments
EXCURSIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE Some students will be expected to complete a work placement.
