What will I study?
You will study six different topics and learn how to make the best possible use of information technology. These subjects include:
Spreadsheets.
Programming.
Multi-media.
Web page design.
Will I have to sit any examinations?
There will be an examination at the end of one unit. However, most of the units are assessed by means of written tasks that are marked by the tutor.
What will I have at the end of the course?
On successful completion of the course, you will have an Applied GCE certificate in information technology, which is equivalent to 1 A level. You can also study other A level subjects in conjunction with this course. If you are studying in Dolgellau, you can gain a qualification equivalent to two A Lefels.
What next?
You will be able to progress to an HND or degree course in computer science, business studies, multi-media studies etc. Qualifications you gain in this field will provide you with a wide range of career options, e.g. computer programming, work as a computer technician, managing computer networks, designing and creating web pages, or teaching other people how to use computers.
