ICT Introductory Diploma in IT (Foundation)

Course Description
This course is designed for those who have little or no knowledge of ICT seeking a route into jobs which require some knowledge of the spreadsheet, word processing and database packages in Microsoft Office. There are three core work-related units and options including PC Systems, Using the Internet, IT Applications, Digital Devices, Financial Management and Key Skills.

Entry Requirements
A minimum of three GCSEs grades E-F, preferably including English. Entry to this course is based on a combination of previous experience and qualifications as well as an assessment interview with College staff.

Assessment Methods
A range of practical work plus end of year assignments.

Progression
This course leads on either to the BTEC First Diploma for IT Practitioners or the BTEC Diploma in Digital Applications (DIDA), depending on choice.
