Law - AS & A Level
This course is ideal if you wish to deepen your understanding of the law and of the legal system in Wales and England. You will be encouraged to evaluate the pros and cons of our legal system and to appreciate how the law can change things for the better in our society.

What will I need to follow the course?
You will need at least 6 GCSEs at grades A-C in order to study this subject. You will be expected to have a grade A or B in Welsh or English. The requirements for adults will be different.

What will I study?
For the AS course you will study the Legal System of England and Wales.

Will I have to sit any examinations?
There will be modular examinations in January and June.

What will I have at the end of the course?
On successful completion of the course, you will have an AS Certificate in Law. You will also be able to study the subject for a further year and gain an A level certificate. During the second year you will study Criminal Law and Justice. You will explore topics such as:

What next?
You will be able to progress to a degree course at university. Students who have pursued this course in the past have chosen to follow degrees in subjects such as Law, Psychology, English, Welsh or Business Studies. The subject is suitable for those wishing to pursue a career in the civil service, police service, probation service or social services. Other opportunities to pursue a careers as a lecturer, reporter or journalist may also be available
