Applicants should have 4 GCSEs at Grades C or above or other relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 BTEC Diploma or Intermediate Construction Award.
In circumstances where there are more applications for the course than there are places available, the College reserves the right to ask for higher grades.

Course Aims
This course is very practically orientated and students will develop their knowledge and professional skills through work realistic projects and practical sessions.
Assessment Methods
Field trips and Study tours are major components of the course.
A Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma is an excellent alternative to A levels for those students who wish to pursue a career in the Built Environment profession.
Achievements/Qualifications
Assessment is continuous and based on these projects. Typical projects include the design of a luxury bungalow and the development proposals and designs for a private housing development. Computer technology is integrated throughout the course eg Computer Aided Design.

Over 95% of students progress to higher level courses. The course is highly regarded as an entrance qualification by both Universities in Northern Ireland and also those in Scotland and England where many past students have been very successful and are now pursuing professional careers.
Alternatively, some students may go directly into employment and continue their studies at the College on the University of Ulster validated Foundation Degree in Building Technology and Management or the Higher National Diploma in Building Studies.
