Description:
The IMI pre apprenticeship programme is endorsed as a level 1 technical certificate by the Motor Industry Training Council. It is an ideal preparation for the foundation modern apprenticeship and is designed to give the student a broad understanding of vehicle systems. There are seven modules to complete which include working safely and effectively, foundation skills, frame/chassis systems, engines, transmissions, periodic maintenance and electrical systems. At least half of the course involves practical work on motorcycles. Assessment is through coursework, written tests and practical tasks.
