Music BTEC First Diploma
This is a practical course which will allow you to build up your own musical performance skills and gain an insight into working practices and employment opportunities in the music industry.

You will have access to a specialist music technology suite, recording studio and DJ equipment, and you will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations.

What will I study?
You will develop your understanding of the music business and your creative musical ability. You will find out about different roles and responsibilities in the music industry. The course will cover areas such as composing, recording, sequences, performing music and DJ technology. You will also study a performing arts related unit which could be dance, drama or technical theatre related.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through practical projects and assignments, including performance.

What can I do next?
If you successfully complete the course you will have a qualification which is equivalent to 4 GCSEs grades A-C. You may wish to go on to a Level 3 programme such as A Levels or a BTEC National Diploma.
