Summary
A vocational programme which provides students with an introduction to the music industry. Basic aspects of audio engineering, computer based music production and composition, performance and the music business are all covered to give students an understanding and foundation from which to plan their future careers. Students will work on several projects which wlll incorporate all the skills they learn in order to gain practical application and a realistic experience of the music industry. Students will also have the opportunity to study an area of specialist interest to them in order to develop their understanding of the music profession and in order to help them discover which aspect of the industry appeals most to them.
Qualifications
Edexcel (BTEC) First Diploma in Music.
Progression Routes
The course provides an excellent starting point for those wishing to go forward and study on the National Diploma in Music Performance or Music Technology Course - subject to an overall Merit grade. Students can progress eventually to Music at Degree level if desired.
