This practical BTEC First Diploma is ideal for you if you want to learn about music. You will learn by completing exciting assignments that are based on real workplace situations. The course will teach you about music and the industry and will provide a good basis to go on to a more advanced work-related qualification.

A BTEC First Diploma is equivalent to four GCSEs grades A*- C and is taken as a full-time course.

Course Details:
This course will introduce you to the important things you need to know about if you want to work as a performing musician. You will learn composition and arrangement. You will also learn about rehearsals together with recording skills and techniques. Your musical performance skills and confidence will develop whilst you work on your assignments.
To ensure you are really equipped to survive in the music business, you will learn many aspects of how the industry works, how to get yourself noticed, and to protect your work and ideas.

It is not a requirement that you should have studied music before taking a First Diploma in Music.

Career Progression:
You may want to progress to a specialist BTEC National programme in Music or Media if you get Merit grades on your First Diploma. Alternatively you may progress into jobs such as work in music shops. You can also seek employment as a music performer, session player, or in the recording industry.
