Aim of course
Students will receive an excellent grounding in a range of arboricultural practices and principles. You will have a thorough understanding of both practical and theoretical aspects of arboriculture.
What does the course involve? Students will cover a range of subjects including: tree biology, identification, pests and diseases, as well as a range of practical applications including climbing, felling and planting.
What qualifications do I need? 4 GCSEs grade C or above including English, maths or science or a BTEC first diploma.
What equipment do I need?
You will need to bring your own chainsaw protective boots. College can provide other personal protective equipment although we recommend you purchase your own.
What can I do after the course? Students can progress onto a Higher Education course, or perform various roles within the industry. You will be able to work as a tree surgeon, for a local authority or gain access to consultancy.
