In order to qualify for this course students will need either; *1 A2 (usually Art) supported by 3 GCSE Grades A* to C, *An AVCE double award in Art & Design, *A BTEC National Diploma in Art & Design PLUS a portfolio of work. Mature applicants (over 19) will be admitted on the basis of interview and must show evidence of an aptitude for this level of qualification.

Art and Design - National Diploma Pre Degree Foundation
What will I study?
This nationally recognised and highly successful course prepares students for advanced level study at BA Honours degree and Foundation Degree level. We offer a broad Art and Design education, including drawing, colour study, painting, figure drawing, life and location drawing. Photography, film and video, 3-dimensional design including wood, metal, ceramics and plaster. We also offer painting, paper making and print-making processes including block and mono-printing. Art and Design History is a feature of the course, with a full-programme of lectures and group discussion. Candidates who would most benefit from the Diploma will normally be 18 years of age, or older.

How can I progress?
The Art and Design Foundation course provides natural progression to a Degree or Foundation Degree. This in turn can lead to careers in all Art & Design areas including Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Illustration, Interior Design, Product Design and Multi-Media Design.
