NC Social Sciences (Full-time)

Aims:
This course is designed to offer people the skills and
qualifications to enable them to progress to further study either
to HNC/D level or to Highers. It is particularly suitable for
students seeking an introduction to Social Science. The course is
specially designed for those who studied social subjects at
Standard Grade or Int 1/2 or those who have no formal
qualifications or whose previous qualifications are out of date.

Duration:
1 year Full-time August to June.

Content:
Students will complete SQA National Units in:
. English (Comm 4 & Lit 1)*
. History
. Politics
. Philosophy
. Psychology
. Sociology
These will begin at Int 2 level and progress to Higher level in
phases 2 & 3. There is no end of year exam.
* Equivalent to Higher English

Articulation:
Successful students may progress to HNC Social Sciences, Social Care, Working with Communities or Highers at Anniesland College.
