You are expected to be available to attend college Monday to Thursday 9am to 5.30pm and Friday 9am to 4.30pm

Course Description
The level 2 certificate in travel and tourism is an ideal qualification for learners interested in a career in the travel and tourism industry. It provides learners with a broad understanding of the travel and tourism industry and develops the necessary skills required for employment at this level.

Course Structure
To be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Travel and Tourism learners are required to successfully complete 5 mandatory and 5 optional units. Key skills is also incorporated as is PPD and individual tutorials.

Course Assessment
Practical, written and role play assessments will be expected for completion (including completion out of college hours)

  • 4 GCSEs grades D and above including English
  • City and Guilds Introductory Diploma Level 1 in Travel and Tourism

Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old on 31 August 2010. However, you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your interview.

Course Enrichment
Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will be provided at the time of interview.

Additional Courses may be included such as languages and first aid. Visits to organisations, regional attractions, travel and tourism events and a residential visit will also be included.

Course Progression
Progression may include a Level 3 qualification in either Travel or Airport related studies.

Course Career Prospects
Learners will improve their chances of gaining employment in the travel and tourism industry such as travel agencies, tour operators, visitor attractions, overseas work such as resort representatives whilst improving their own communication and vocational skills.
