Course Description
This course qualifies you to work with children from 0 to 16 years, e.g. in schools, nurseries or crches.
Level 2 prepares you to work in support of others involved in childcare and education.
The programme consists of 2 days a week in class and 2 days a week on work placement in a childcare setting. All classes are held within school hours, to suit the needs of parents. Assessment is undertaken in the workplace, by trained assessors.
There are seven units to complete in order to achieve the Level 2 qualification.
The units will cover these topics:
Forming positive relationships with children and adults at work
Helping to keep children safe
Supporting children's development
Developing your skills and practice in children's care, learning and development
Preparing and maintaining environments to meet children's needs
Supporting children's play and learning
