NVQ Level 1 Multi-Skilled Hospitality Service and Front Office

Course Details

On the course you will gain all the basic skills and knowledge to work successfully in a front of house position within the hospitality industry. You will gain a full NVQ1 in Multi Skilled Hospitality. The course includes study in customer care, food and drink service, using equipment, reception skills, telephone skills, keyboarding skills, office administration and hygiene, health and safety. In addition you will have the opportunity to gain extra qualifications such as Foundation Food Hygiene, Foundation Health and Safety, CLAIT, Key Skills in Communication, and IT and Units of NVQ1 Reception. You will participate in work experience during term 3 for 8 weeks in total.

Qualifications required:
You will need a pleasant and polite personality and enjoy working with people. A positive attitude is more important than qualifications although it is expected that you will possess a satisfactory standard of numeracy and literacy skills.

Progression:
Most students who successfully complete this qualification return to take the NVQ2 Multi Skilled Hospitality and Front Office. Some students have progressed to other hospitality qualifications such as Bar Service or Food Service while others have gone on to do Business Administration qualifications.
