Course Summary:
Students enrolling on this course follow a minimum four and a half years full time route which will provide the student osteopath with all the essential attributes in becoming a professional practitioner. At the end of level two students unable to meet the rigours of the Masters will be transferred onto the BSc(Hons) Osteopathic Medicine programme. The BSc(Hons) Osteopathic Medicine has maximum Recognised Qualification (RQ) status with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). The MOst Osteopathic Medicine course is subject to General Osteopathic Council RQ Accreditation which has been applied for.

Course Details:
The Course encompasses a sound underpinning of anatomy, physiology, pathology and clinical diagnosis. The understanding of normal osteopathic mechanics and principles and the alteration of these in disease processes are interwoven into this, alongside the application of osteopathic techniques. From the early years students are introduced into the professional arena of the busy student clinic and will experience the exhilaration of being part of a healthcare team. They will be expected to fulfil a set number of clinical hours of training to progress through each level.

The course requires the development and submission of a research dissertation which is firmly grounded in quantitative and qualitative methodologies.

In the final level students are offered elective modules from which they can choose speciality areas of interest to them.

Students unable to fulfil the professional practice requirements at level 3 may be offered optional modules (Healthcare Collaboration 1 & 2) to exit with a non-practising non professional degree [BSc (Hons) Health Science]
