This course provides the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary for you to work in this exciting customer focused profession.

Entry requirements
You must have a good standard of education to GCSE level and be committed to achieving your NVQ. In addition you will be invited to attend an interview.

What will I study?
You will study all aspects of ?ladies? hairdressing including: Shampoo & Conditioning; Basic Cutting; Perming & Colouring; Employment Standards; Health & Safety; Customer Service; Communication Skills, including reception work, and the use of Information Technology and Numeracy.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by continual assessment, through observation of your practical work, the completion of a portfolio, theoretical evidence and assignment work.

Career Opportunities & Progression
NVQ Level 3 is strongly recommended to achieve your full potential for the Industry. Work within the profession includes such jobs as Junior Stylist, Colour Artist, Media Hairstylist, Cruise Liners Stylist, Salon Owner, Lecturer and Trainer/Assessor.
