Aim of course
This course is for anyone wishing to progress into employment in plastering or for those from the industry who wish to gain a recognised qualification.

What will the course involve?
The course contains a mixture of theory and practical activity covering all aspects of solid and fibrous plastering. Candidates aged 16-19 yrs will also study a Level 2 NCFE qualification and Key Skills in numeracy and literacy. The Key Skills will be studied as an integral part of both the Diploma and NCFE qualifications.

Course Content
You will study rendering, skimming, screeding and decorative plasterwork. Assignments and projects are an essential part of this course. 16-19 year old learners will study an additional qualification (NCFE Creative Craft) which researches project management. As 16-19 yr old learners study two qualifications, you will attend college for four days a week, mature students only study the Level 2 Diploma and need only attend for two days (these days will be decided by the Course Tutor to ensure that all areas are covered).

What can I do afterwards?
On successful completion of this course, you would be considered for a part-time Level 3 Diploma or NVQ 2 in Plastering. As the NVQ is only assessed in the workplace, you would need to find employment with a company whose work covered all the required units of the NVQ.
