Introduction
This course is aimed at people interested in a career in Plumbing and is the underpinning knowledge for the NVQ in Plumbing (Heating & Ventilation).

Description
You will study a wide range of skills to be effective in the industry including the cutting, bending and jointing of pipe work with materials such as copper, plastics, steel and iron, and the locating and repair of appliances as diverse as showers and boilers. You will also study diagnosis of faults on high tech electronic components in heating systems.

One year

Method of Study
You are continually assessed through practical assignments and an external examination. Study is by lecture and workshop training. The students will be expected to undertake an amount of directed learning and key skills form part of the overall qualification.

Progression
You could carry on and study NVQ Level 2 (if you find a suitable job) or join the industry as a plumbers mate.
