Sports Science HND (Level 5)
Course Content
The course is offered in partnership with Swansea University, it aims to develop the student's ability to carry out the operational roles relevant to sports science, learn from a scientific point of view abou the human body, its anatomy and physiology, and how to health and fitness can be maintained.
This is a two year programme and includes 16 modules delivered over four semesters.
Course units include: Biochemistry, Research Methods, Anatomy, Physiology, Maths & Statistics, Biomechanics, Sports Psychology
Teaching/Assessment
There is a mixture of learning experiences from theory, practice and
coursework projects.
Tuition includes practical work, lectures and examinations.

Progression
This qualification can lead to:
Further Education: Progression onto BSc (Hons) in Sports Science.
Employment: in areas such as Sports Manufacturing, Product Design, Product Testing, Product Research & Development, Coaching, Personal Training, Graduate entry into Police & Armed Services.
Additional Information
Students are required to attend an induction residential at a cost of circa £40.
Students will have the opportunity to purchase a college tracksuit and sports related kit through their selected sporting teams.
Minimal additional costs may be required for local educational visits.
