SVQ Hairdressing Level 3

Course Summary:
Designed for Hairdressers who work independently in the salon and support others in their role. You may have already achieved SVQ Levels 1 and 2 in Hairdressing. However, if you have sufficient practical experience working as a Hairdresser, but have not yet achieved a formal qualification, you may also be at the right stage to study Level 3.

Course Content:
Colour hair using a variety of techniques
Create a variety of looks using a combination of cutting techniques
Develop and enhance your creative hairdressing skills
Ensure your own actions reduce the risks of Health and Safety
Perm hair using a variety of techniques
Promote additional products and services to clients
Provide hairdressing consultation services
Style and dress hair to create a variety of creative looks
Style and dress long hair

Assessment:
Continuous, with a mix of practical and theoretical assessments
Portfolio of evidence

Possible Progression Routes:
Successful candidates can take a variety of routes including: entering the industry as a Senior Stylist, entering the industry as a Technician/Trainer or becoming self-employed
