Course programme
Is the course for me?
You will gain a detailed understanding of how the travel and tourism industry works. You will study 18 units over two years and will gain a qualification that is equivalent to 3 A'Levels.
What will I learn?
You will study a variety of subjects that include customer service, long haul destinations, sustainable tourism development, holiday reps and investigating the travel & tourism industry. As a student you will have the opportunity to attend an organised overseas residential visit which will be part subsidised by the college. In recent years students have had the opportunity to visit Barcelona, Nice and Disneyland Resort Paris. These residential trips are used to enhance the students' college experience and to give them a greater understanding of the industry. We recommend that all students have a valid full passport to take advantage of these trips. In addition to the 18 units that you will study, you will also have tutorials with a designated Learning Coach. The Learning Coach will provide you with support throughout your time at college. We will help you improve your Maths, English and ICT skills through keyskill lessons.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through assignment work, which will consist of 18 set assignments. These will be spaced out over the two years so that the workload is evenly spread out. At anyone time the maximum assignments that you will have is 3.
What can I do after the course?
You can progression to university or into a supervisory role in the Travel and Tourism Industry.
