Travel & Tourism BTEC National Diploma
This course teaches you all about theTravel and Tourism industry. The course is ideal for anyone interested in such occupations as Travel Agent, Flight Attendants, Holiday Rep, entertainment events, and visitor attractions or perhaps working in an airport.

What will I study?
You will study a total of 18 units to complete this qualification. These will be made up of core and specialist units.

The six core units you must study are:
  • The Travel and Tourism Industry
  • The Business of Travel and Tourism
  • Tourist Destinations
  • customer Service in Travel and Tourism
  • Marketing Travel and Tourism Products and Services
  • Working in the Travel and Tourism Industry


You will study 12 specialist units including:
  • Retail Travel Operations
  • Tourism Development
  • Tour Operations
  • Holiday Representatives
  • Handling Air Passengers


How will I be assessed?
Assessment is course work based and you will need to complete at least one assignment per unit. Assignments will vary, as some will be very practical whilst others will be more theory based.

What can I do next?
A variety of options are available to you following study of Travel and Tourism. If you succeed at Level 3, you can advance onto a degree course at University. Alternatively, the skills gained can make you very employable in the Travel and Tourism Industry. However certain jobs such as Flight attendants and some Holiday reps have a starting age of 21 years, so you may want to gain some customer service skills in the meantime.
