Travel & Tourism First Diploma
This course is designed for those who want a career in the travel and tourism industry and have an interest in travel and business studies.

Course Content:
There are three compulsory units:

  • Introduction to the travel and tourism industry
  • Introduction to tourism destinations
  • Introduction to customer service

There are three specialist units:

  • Introduction to marketing
  • Organising a travel and tourism event
  • Introduction to the business of travel and tourism

You will also have the opportunity to undertake the following:

  • GCSE maths and English retakes



Awarding body:
Edexcel.
Attendance Requirements:
Full-time. Details regarding expected course timetable and attendance will be given at interview, if available.

Entry Requirements:
Applicants should have one of the following:

  • At least four GCSEs at average grade D
  • BTEC Introductory
  • /Foundation Diploma at Merit or Distinction
  • An appropriate standard of literacy and numeracy and related interests



Entry Process:
All applicants will be invited to an interview with the tutor, allowing you to find out more and check that the course is the best option for you. Interviews normally take place between January and September of the year in which the course starts.

Assessment:
You will be assessed through coursework and an Integrated Vocational Assignment (IVA).

Progression Routes:
You may progress onto study the BTEC National Diploma in Travel and Tourism.

Career Options:
Employment within the large and diverse travel and tourism industry.
