Course Content

The full qualification of the NVQ level 1 is an introduction to the Beauty Therapy industry, encompassing the role of assisting the therapist in the workplace. High standard of training will be provided in facial and manicure treatments using leading product brands.

Course Features

Additional activities include fashion shows, competitions, industrial events, beauty exhibtion trips.

This course offers progression on to the NVQ level 2 in Beauty Therapy

Experience or qualifications are not essential to undertake this qualification

The course if full-time with a one day a week work experience is an integral part of the programme.

Career Prospects and Progression

Introduction to Beauty Therapy and the role of an assistant. Progressional route to Beauty Therapy NVQ level 2 and 3.

Health & Safety Assist with salon reception duties Prepare and maintain the Beauty Therapy work area Assist with facial treatments Assist with nail treatments on the hands

Method of Assessment

Continuous assessment through observations of practical work on paying clients, assignments and written tests. Students are required to compile a portfolio of evidence.

Entry Requirements

No experience or qualifications are not necessary to undertake this qualification, however there will be an interview and selection process to accept you onto this course. It is essential that a Beauty Therapy kit and uniform/shoes are purchased prior to starting the course.
