Course Content

This two year, full-time, course is franchised from the University of Glamorgan and can be the first two years of a BSc in Software Engineering. (subject to validation). The course covers the analysis, design and implementation of computerised systems for commerce and industry and is a popular choice because of the breadth of its subject content. This course covers a major area of professional computing, with particular reference to the design, production and maintenance of computer software. Major Information Systems (IS) require large teams, especially in the design and implementation stages. This course has a strong practical orientation that targets careers in such application software developments, utilising current software engineering techniques and tools. Successful completion of a HND qualification will enable students to apply for a top-up degree in Computing.

Year 2: Level 2 Project; Professional Information Systems Development; Event Driven Programming; Internet and Web Development; Network Architectures and Operating Systems; Object Oriented Software Development.
