This course covers the use of MS FrontPage 2003 to create HTML documents for publication on the Web and corporate intranets. It gives a practical introduction to Web page structure and covers the techniques required to create pages and link them together to build a Web site. Specific skills taught include those needed to incorporate text, hyperlinks, frames and forms.
About this course
No knowledge of FrontPage is necessary but an acquaintance with a browser program, such as Microsoft Explorer, is assumed.

This course covers the use of MS FrontPage 2003 to create HTML documents for publication on the Web and corporate intranets. It gives a practical introduction to Web page structure and covers the techniques required to create pages and link them together to build a Web site. Specific skills taught include those needed to incorporate text, hyperlinks, frames and forms. Hyperlinking using graphics and buttons as well as basic image mapping is also covered.

· HTML defined; page structure e.g. title, head, body section; understanding URLs
· The FrontPage environment
· Setting up a FrontPage document; proper file name usage
Formatting text and page layout
· Text attributes e.g. font, size, alignment, style; Web-suitable colours
· Creating ordered and unordered lists
Understanding and using Hyperlinks
· Internal links: to other pages and files; to specific points within a page
· External links: to other Web sites; to e-mail addresses
· Custom link bars
· Removing underlining from links
Using Graphics
· Placing GIF or JPEG images on a page; determining image size and position
· Using graphics as hyperlink "hotspots"
· Using Autoshapes, WordArt, and the Drawing Canvas tools
