An intensive 3 week course combining conceptual and practical skills in furniture design and model making. Working both in a studio and workshop, you will learn how to research and how to apply your findings in order to define your design directions. You will make extensive use of drawing, sketching and sketch model making in order to refine your ideas. The outcome will be your final scaled model.

Course programme

The course will also give you a comprehensive overview of current professional furniture design practices. You will also get a useful insight into some practical aspects of design such as batch production, technical restraint and ergonomics. Plus, you will be able to make extensive use of Central Saint Martins' workshops with the support of specialist skilled technicians.
