Further Mathematics, AS-Level
AS & A Level
About the Course
The full Further Mathematics course takes two years and must be studied alongside A level Mathematics. However, you may decide that the AS qualification as an enhancement is more appropriate for continuing a subject you enjoy rather than a subject you need for higher education and your future career. As with A Level Mathematics, you study six modules (four pure and two applications) with the AS qualification based upon three modules.
The applications modules will allow you to continue your studies in Decision Mathematics, Statistics or Mechanics. The pure mathematics modules will introduce you to complex number theory, solving differential equations and matrix algebra. You will work in a small group of highly motivated students.
