AS CONTENT

AS ASSESSMENT
Each module is assessed by written examination. Some modules have a coursework project which is part of the examination assessment.
A2 CONTENT

A2 ASSESSMENT
A2 assessment follows a similar format as the AS assessment.
HOW WILL I STUDY?
You will experience a wide range of teaching styles and be encouraged to explore new ideas for yourself, sometimes using IT and worksheets. Alongside this, there will be formal teaching and provision for consolidation of ideas and techniques needed for examinations. You will have 3 hours per week of timetabled study with an additional 2 hours of support provided by tutorials. Our links with Leicester University and the Further Maths Network provide additional support for students. It is recommended that you should spend on average 5 hours per week doing self-study. You will make extensive use of graphical calculators and computers throughout the course. It will be possible to hire or purchase your own graphical calculator through the college at a discount rate. You will be encouraged to take advantage of tutorial facilities to provide extra support to lessons. You will monitor your work and progress with regular review sheets and periodic assessments in addition to the formal assessments.
