Garment Costing

An important question for any brand to ask is what makes up the cost of a garment? Focusing on lingerie, swimwear and outwear the Garment Costing course aims to answer this question through practical costing tasks and a clear breakdown of what factors impact on the landed cost price. Course aims Through the two days the course aims to provide attendees a greater level of technical understanding where it impacts on cost, appreciation of lay planning and cutting, rating and consumption and a greater practical knowledge of componentry, fabric and other variables that impact on the price.

• Confidently breakdown the landed cost price and use this in a practical work based situation

• Understand technical aspects of garment costing relating to patterns, lay planning, fabric consumption and working with prints, one-ways, boarders, stretch and nap.

• Manufacturing processes Delivery The course will be delivered at De Montfort University over two days and includes theory and practical tasks.
