Gas Commercial TPCP 1A

Course Level This course is to help you in achieving the testing and purging of small commercial gas installations component of the ACS (Accredited Certification Scheme for Individual Gas Fitting Operatives) relative to commercial gas work.

Description
A refresher course covering all of the fundamentals of testing and purging of smaller commercial gas systems. If this qualification is appropriate, you will work on natural gas only, pipe of maximum 150mm. diameter, operating pressures not greater than 40mbar, and installation volume not exceeding 1m3 . If your work is on other fuel gases, or systems of greater size than this, please see the section on TPCP1.

Aimed at preparing you for the TPCP1a assessment, which is required by Gas Safe Register, for your registration with them to carry out this work.

The course includes a copy of Institute of Gas Engineers Utilisation Procedure 1a, Strength Testing, Tightness Testing and Direct Purging of Small, low pressure Industrial and Commercial Natural Gas Installations, which will be needed during the course, the assessment, and for your subsequent use in these operations.

You are not obliged to take a refresher course, but we strongly advise it, to help you to pass the associated assessments.

1 day, plus 1 day separate assessment, 2 days in all.

What will I study?

Pneumatic testing
Direct Purging

How will I learn?
The course is for experienced people, and the subjects are wide ranging, so are mainly covered in the classroom. This is by lecturer input, written exercises, and research. There are practical tasks also, in certain areas of work.

How will I be assessed?
The assessment takes 1 day in addition to the training period, and is undertaken separately.

This course will help prepare you for the associated TPCP1a assessment, helping you to provide the required evidence of competence necessary for your Gas Safe Register registration.
