About this course
NVQ level 2 Gas and interview required. The course is open to all adults (18 or over at the start of the course). Students must be able to find themselves a suitable work placement, and must be able to commit themselves to attending College for at least one full day per week.

Course Aims:
To develop competence in areas of installing and commissioning systems in domestic situations.
Course Content:
The course covers all practical and theoretical aspects in relation to Gas mechanical services. The course is both practical and theory based but with supplementary background knowledge also covered.
Areas include:
Gas mains installations
Hot water supplies for central heating
Installation of appliances
Installation of domestic hot water heating
Working towards CORGI registration

Assessment is by coursework with both practical and written tasks. On completion of 9 units showing competence in areas of installations and background knowledge the candidate will receive a full Gas NVQ at level 3.
