Course Level Level 2

Description
This course is nationally recognised and is well known within the gas and plumbing industries.

The course provides a thorough background for employment, training and education in a wide range of domestic gas work. It places an emphasis on the safety aspects. Work experience and vocationally qualified staff combine to provide an interesting and challenging programme.

Course Length
One academic year, attending two days per week, or two academic years attending two evenings per week.

What will I study?
Domestic natural gas installation and maintenance, including pipework and all appliances.

How will I learn?
By study and practical work at College, and by work experience, which needs to amount to 28 weeks on-site experience during the course.

How will I be assessed?
By observed practical assessments at college and on-site, and by written papers later in the course.

Where could it lead?
Employment carrying-out installation and maintenance of gas and central heating systems. Progression onto level 3 for design and planning, and work on more complex systems.
