Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, you will demonstrate enthusiasm for and a wish to succeed in the transport industry and have a good general education. Applicants will be aged 16 years or over and will attend an appraisal interview.

Those with a good track record from their previous place of education in relation to attendance and attitude who were unsuccessful at achieving 3 GCSEs at E or above, or have some other learning difficulty that cannot be catered for in the main Level One Foundation Motor Vehicle Course. (See separate course sheet)


Throughout the course time will be spent undertaking a combination of practical and theoretical learning experiences combined with the opportunity improve your basic skills abilities.

Throughout the course, time will be spent undertaking a combination of practical and theoretical learning experiences based around the road transport industry combined with the upgrading of your basic skills including Numeracy and Communication.


Successful completion of the course will be proven by achieving improved grades in Numeracy and Communication and gaining confidence within the Motor Vehicle Industry.

You will then be able to proceed on to the Foundation Motor Vehicle course (after satisfactory completion of an entry exam) at Level One (See separate course sheet) bringing with you improved basic skills and an appreciation of the transport industry and a good general knowledge of road vehicles.
