What do I need?
Students wishing to undertake A levels should attain 5 grades A-C at GCSE.
In order to study the AS level in PSYCHOLOGY applicants will need to attain a grade C in Maths and English Language at GCSE level.
What will I study?
You will study 5 different and interesting areas of Psychology Cognitive/Developmental/Physiological/Social/Individual Differences together with Research Methods.
How will I be Assessed?
You will be assessed by examination at the end of the year. You are allowed to use a coursework folder to help you with the Research Methods part of the exam.
How will I be taught?
Teaching methods include: Discussion/Group work/Lecture/Presentations/Practical work/Individual work. This subject is taught at Gateshead College; Durham Rd Campus.
What qualification will I get?
You will achieve GCSE AS and GCSE A level in Psychology OCR specification 3876
Can I go onto further study?
If you complete the AS you can then progress onto A2 to complete your A level.
