Subjects covered Unit 1: understanding and Producing non fiction texts External examination = 40% of total GCSE marks, 2 hours Section A: Reading Section B: Writing Unit 2: Speaking and Listening Controlled assessment = 20% of total GCSE marks. Oral assessment will comprise of individual contribution, group discussions and role play. Unit 3: Understanding and producing creative texts. Controlled assessment = 40% of total GCSE marks, this will include 6-8 hours controlled assessment. Part A: Understanding creative texts (literary: 3 tasks to be submitted; reading Shakespeare, prose and poetry). Part B: Producing creative texts. 2 tasks to be submitted.
