Course information:
GCSE Information Communication Technology


Course content:
SEG has developed a new Information Technology syllabus to meet the requirements of the new Subject Specific Criteria for Information Technology.
The syllabus is designed to be accessible and flexible to suit the varying needs of a wide range of candidates.

Assessment procedure:
There are two components for this Syllabus.

The Coursework:
· is common to both tiers;
· accounts for 60% of the candidate†s total subject mark;
· requires candidates to submit two coursework tasks, which
together cover the Assessment objectives;
· will be marked by the subject lecturer and moderated by SEG.

Final Written Paper (1 hour 30 min.):
· this is taken by candidates at the end of the course;
· accounts for 40% of the candidates total subject mark;
· is available in two tiers of assessment;
Higher A* -D
Foundation C -G
enables candidates to enter for the tier most suited to their
ability.
