Entry RequirementsWhile there are no formal entry requirements, candidates should be enthusiastic and keen to improve their photographic skills.
It is essential that candidates should own, or have access to, a single lens reflex camera and lens (Film or Digital) however you would need access to a film SLR for the first assignment (from now until Christmas) as it is a traditional b/w film process that will be delivered.Course Content
Candidates will learn how to use a camera to create a range of images, including portraits, landscapes, close-ups, abstract and action photographs.
A wide range of photographic techniques will be covered, including
·Camera controls- aperture and shutter speed·Composition·Monochrome processing and presenting·Contextual and artistic implications of the practice of photography.·Digital imaging

Everyone will need a SKETCHPAD to show reaearch, planning and development/evaluation of their work.
How will I be assessed?
The course is assessed through coursework and a control test. The coursework comprises of three practical assignments supported by research and underpinning knowledge. The control test requires candidates to produce a set of photographs to a brief within a four-week time block.
What can I do next?
Candidates who successfully complete this course may progress to AS or other Level 3.
Additional costs
In addition to the course fee students will need to provide all their own photographic materials.
B/W film and b/w photographic paper if shooting film (b/w processed in college or colour at a lab) and digital printing paper and storage medium(s) for digital.
