Course programme

What are our Aims?

It is our aim to develop a positive attitude towards physical activity and recreation that will give our pupils lasting interests which they will continue to enjoy for the rest of their lives. Through the various activities on offer we aim to develop the ideals of sportsmanship and teamwork. Some of our past pupils have gone on to represent their country in various sports including netball, swimming, football, cricket, and gymnastics.

Practical Coursework Component
"Plan, Perform, Monitor and Evaluate a Health-Related Exercise Programme to Improve Performance in a chosen physical activity"

Field Trip
Each year all candidates are offered the opportunity to attend a 4 Day residential trip to Woodhall Outdoor Pursuit Centre to complete an Orienteering Course

Assessment
Written Paper 2 hours - 40% of the Marks (105 marks)
Practical Coursework - 60% of the Marks (480 marks)

Programme Timetable
5 periods of G.C.S.E PE per week
Minimum of 2 homeworks per week
Dress Code is Full School PE Kit with optional school tracksuit
