Students who already have a grade D at GCSE Maths from school should take the GCSE Use of Maths course. Students who have an E or below at GCSE Maths from school should take the Money Management course.

    GCSE Use of Maths
    Functional Skills Level 2
    FSMQ in Data Handling
  • Students on the Money Management course can obtain two separate qualifications:
    FSMQ in Money Management
    Functional Skills Level 1.

Assessment
  • GCSE Use of Maths: No coursework. Three exams:
    Functional Skills (Level 2) in January;
    Data Handling in May
    Financial Calculations in May.
  • FSMQ Money Management: 50% coursework, 50% exam in May.
    Functional Skills (Level 1): No coursework; exam in January.
