Content / Overview:
This dynamic and interesting subject explores a range of real life topics and issues such as the global challenge of climate, water conflicts and the development gap. The new four unit specification allows students to balance their own particular physical, human and environmental interests with key geographical skills to allow for further study at university or to move into employment. Fieldwork is an integral part of the course and past trips have included a four day trip to Paris, a six day residential in Iceland and day visits to Southampton and Christchurch Bay. A four day compusory trip takes place in the first year in the UK with approximate costs of £180. A variety of teaching methods are used including internet research, group work, power point presentations, DVD and videos to ensure pass rates well above the national average.

Delivery Method:
Fieldwork is an integral part of the course.

Assessment:
External exams only in January and June.

Progression:
Degrees in geography, environment or global challenges.
