Geography Course Information
Students will cover a wide range of topics and experience a variety of learning and teaching approaches. Key Skills, target setting and practical approaches are built into the course. Many of our students go on to take a degree in Geography or a closely-related subject. Employers like geographers because they develop skills in literacy, numeracy, IT and spatial awareness; additionally they develop team skills and can articulate and analyse complex problems. Your teachers will be able to advise you about university entry and careers of an environmental or geographical nature.

What will I study on this course?
In Geographyyou will study global themes, including globalisation, climate change, hazards and development. You will discover how your own actions can relate to the wider world, be it your local area or a country far away. It also gives you the opportunity to undertake geographical research, including fieldwork.

How is this course assessed?
This course is 100% examination based. Students will sit 2 external examinations, one in the January and one in the June of each year of the course.
