Course programme

Our Geology degree provides you with a scientific understanding of Earth processes and the products of these processes (such as rocks and fossils). Your knowledge and practical skills will enable you to understand how the Earth and Solar System work now, and have evolved through time, which will then enable you to work in a wide range of geological industries.

Our fieldwork programme is supported by the fieldwork scholarship scheme.

Course highlights

  • Students may choose to study for year two of their degree at the University of Brest, Plymouth's twin city in Brittany
  • Arrangements also exist to study in the USA or Canada
  • Teaching of all geology degrees at Plymouth is considered to be 'excellent' by the most recent HEFCE TQA assessment
