German Beginners level 2

Your Course
This 10 week course will suit beginners who have already studied German for approximately one term. The course is based on a communicative approach and aims to develop the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in the foreign language. It aims to enable students to understand and use German effectively for purposes of practical communication, to develop some understanding of grammar and to offer insights into the culture of German speaking countries.
This course feeds into Beginners level 3 in the summer term 2010.
During this course students will take short internal assessments in speaking and writing German at beginners' level. These will help to prepare them for the OCR Asset Language test that will be taken at the end of the first year of study.
The course book is 'Deutsch Plus 1' (BBC)
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the 10 week course you will have been given the opportunity to:
· Listen to and read a variety of texts and materials.
· Improve your spoken language.
· Learn new points of grammar, including the present tense, use of adjectives, negative sentences, prepositions, articles and the comparative.
· Write simple sentences.
Your Tutor
Gees Boland is a qualified teacher of German and French. She has also worked with students in adult education and curriculum based settings, encompassing beginners, GCSE and A levels. Gees Boland's qualifications include BA [Hons] in French and German, and PGCE from the department of Education in Cambridge. She believes that language learning should be fun, challenging, diverse and informative and looks forward to welcoming you to her class.

Tuition fees: £90
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.
Half term:
Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
