Gold Overlay - Korean Kuem Boo

Course Outline:
Kuem Boo is the ancient, intruiging and suprisingly simple Korean technique of fusing pure gold to the surface of silver by means of heat and pressure. Decorative accents are added to your jewellery. This technique may be used in combination with various texturing techniques to add fascinating qualities to the surface of the metal

What will we learn?

To prepare the silver suface, to cut and apply the gold foil, to solder findings to the piece, to finish the work to a high standard.

You will create one or two pieces to take home and enjoy. Your tutor will work with you as a group and as individuals to supposrt and guide you through your learning

What will I need to bring?

We will supply all the tools and equipment needed for jewellery making. Participants must supply their own silver (sterling silver or fine silver are suitable). Please bring along any finsihed pieces you would like to embellish. The course price includes gold foil to the value of £40.
