Course description
Course Length
One academic session each year for full time, longer part time, September - June each year.
Course content
An integrated blend of experiential, practical and academic study of a mix of golf related subjects and business theory is designed to allow students to apply modern management practices to actual golfing scenarios.
A 9 month work placement at a leading golf club/resort is embedded in the third year of the degree, building on your experience and learning over the first two years and enhancing employable skills and opportunities after graduation.
Entry requirements 3 Highers at grade C or above and 3 Standard Grades at grade 3 or above (including English) or equivalent. Appropriate HNC/D/FdA/FdSc/ Degree, with appropriate experience, may allow advanced entry to the BA (Honours) levels. 5 Highers or equivalent at AAABB into year 2 of BA (Honours)

Full time or part time. The BA and Honours levels available online for part time and full time options: also available at other UHI sites for the online option, studying through a virtual learning environment
Opportunities
92% of recent graduates progress on to either jobs in the golf industry, other work or postgraduate education. Past graduates are employed in resorts such as the Belfry, Turnberry and the K Club; in traditional members clubs such as Royal Dornoch itself, Duff Buchanan Castle and Nairn (venue of 2012 Curtis Cup); and other industry leaders such as TaylorMade and Acushnet.

Course Fees for Part Time Students
The units which count towards this qualification are available on an individual basis, making it possible for part time students to gather sufficient units to achieve the award, albeit over a longer period.
You may not have to pay any fees for these units if you qualify for a fee waiver, for instance if you are eligible for certain benefits. See the college's Fee Waiver Policy in the resources area of the website.
It is possible to use a current Individual Learning Account (ILA200) to pay for these units as you come to study them.
Part time students may also possible qualify for the ILA500, which is a £500 grant for students studying HNC, HND, Degree and taught Postgraduate courses. You must study units totally 40 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework (SCQF) credits or more a year.
