The A Level in Government and Politics will look at how the UK is governed, both at home and within the context of the European Union, and consider the changing nature of the UK political system.

Students of Government and Politics seek answers to some of the most interesting and important questions affecting the world around us.
If you are interested in the deeper, more philosophical issues such as democracy, freedom and power and equality then it could be the ideal subject for you.
How long is the course?
1 - 2 years.
What will I study?
You will study how the government works, the role of Parliament, political parties and political ideologies.
What does the course lead to?
This A Level will open doors into local government, the media and politics. You will be given a solid grounding in how the country is governed and how political systems work, which is a transferable tool in a variety of career paths.
What can I go on to study?
This A Level will provide you with a route into university level study in Politics, Law, Media and Communication, Sociology and International Relations among others.
